GORD BAMFORD Main Artist del Voghera Country Festival 2019
La 12ª edizione del Voghera Country Festival ci propone per la serata del sabato sera un grande artista: Gord Bamford!
Scenario importante di questo concerto che si terrà sabato 22 giugno 2019 sarà l’ormai collaudato Palatexas del Cowboys’ Guest Ranch di Voghera, resort noto per la sua atmosfera unica e per essere diventato posto ideale per la musica di qualità, il divertimento, la vita all’aria aperta e per le famiglie.
Nativo dell’Australia (Traralgon 17/04/76 a circa 150 km da Melbourne), si trasferisce ancora bambino in Alberta, Canada. La madre, anch’essa cantante country, incoraggia il giovane Gord a ripercorrerne le tracce e a intraprendere la carriera professionistica. L’abbrivio è promettente – il suo primo singolo autoprodotto, ottiene buoni riscontri radiofonici – così, nel gennaio del 2001 viene pubblicato il suo primo album, “God’s Green Earth”, dai risultati di vendita però che ancora non soddisfano a pieno l’artista.
Gord matura sempre più la consapevolezza che le strade per poter fare il salto di qualità portino tutte a Nashville. Intraprende così viaggi sempre più frequenti in Tennessee, allo scopo di farsi conoscere e poter far fruttare a pieno il suo talento di interprete e di autore. A Nashville riesce ad agganciare un autore/produttore già molto in auge, con il quale intraprenderà un lungo e proficuo cammino di collaborazione artistica, Byron Hill, già collaboratore ed autore per George Strait, Gary Allan, Randy Travis, Tracy Byrd, Clay Walker e altri.
Da lì in avanti arrivano a cascata diversi album, che proiettano Bamford sui palchi insieme a Terri Clark, Tim McGraw e Kenny Rogers, dando solidità ad una carriera che guarda con favore alla musica country neo-tradizionalista, ma senza nostalgie e passatismi, bensì con un approccio stilistico fresco, gagliardo e solare.
Dopo aver confezionato 7 fantastici capolavori discografici, nel 2018 pubblica “Neon Smoke” che contiene il Top Chart “Dive Bar”.
Gord Bamford si distingue per essere uno degli artisti più decorati nella country music canadese, con ben 24 premi CCMA e diverse nomination Juno e l’ unico ad essere stato due volte vincitore nella CMA, come Global Country Artist nel 2013 e 2015.
Dedito al sociale, al termine di un torneo benefico di golf fonda quella che oggi è la “Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation” generando oltre 3 milioni di dollari devoluti a favore di organizzazioni di beneficenza per bambini come la Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Big Brothers e Big Sisters oltre a numerosi ospedali per bambini in tutto il Canada.

Per il dodicesimo anno il Voghera Country Festival offre agli appassionati frequentatori tre giorni intensi insieme ai migliori DJ di musica country e insegnanti italiani e stranieri di line dance e di catalan style all’interno di un pittoresco contesto Country Style nella campagna di Voghera, oltre ad offrire gare di country line dance e di catalan, stage di ballo tenuti da professionisti del settore, dj’s set, live music con artisti professionisti e con band Italiane, bancarelle a tema, American food & saloon, giochi e divertimento per grandi e piccini!!!

During its 12° edition, Voghera Country Festival will be hosting the performance of a great artist on Saturday Night : Gord Bamford!
Gord will be performing Saturday June 22nd 2019 at the renowned Palatexas (the Cowboys’ Guest Ranch’s arena). This historic venue is known for its unique atmosphere and for having become one of the temples for high quality music and outdoor fun for everybody.
Born in Australia (Traralgon 17/04/76 , roughly 150 km outside Melbourne), Gord moves to Alberta, Canada while still a child.
His mother (also a country singer), encourages her son to follow in her footsteps and pursue music professionally. Lo and behold, Gord’s self-produced debut single is well received by country radio worldwide. This initial success is shortly followed by his debut album, “God’s Green Earth”, which though acclaimed, does not yield the results Gord hopes for.
Realizing that the path to success leads to Nashville, he undergoes numerous trips to Tennessee, in hopes of having his talent as a singer/songwriter recognized by the country public at large. While in Music City, he hooks up with well know songwriter/producer Byron Hill (George Strait, Gary Allan, Randy Travis, Tracy Byrd, Clay Walker and many others).
This collaboration brings forth a slew of albums, which allow Gord to share the stage with the likes of Terri Clark, Tim McGraw and Kenny Rogers, thus solidifying a neo-traditionalist country career. He quickly becomes known for his fresh and adventurous style, which though strongly rooted in the genre, does not hold on to nostalgia.
On the heels of 7 full length musical masterpieces, Bamford releases “Neon Smoke” which will feature the chart topping single “Dive Bar”.
Known for being one of the most acclaimed Canadian country music artists, with 24 CCMA awards and numerous Juno nominations, Gord is the only Canadian artist to have twice won the CMA for Global Country Artist in 2013 and 2015.
Despite his success, Bamford does not forget those in need, and hence, following a benefit golf tournament, he decides to create the “Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation”. The latter boasts over 3 million dollars donated to such foundations as Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, not to mention numerous children’s hospitals in Canada.
All the above and more will be tangible in Gord’s performance on Saturday night. For the 12th consecutive year, Voghera Country Festival will offer its fans 3 fun filled days in the company of the best country music, Djs and international dance instructors (Line dance and Catalan Style), all set against the picturesque backdrop of Voghera. Added to this already rich mix of dance contests, DJ sets and live music, will be themed stalls, great food, games and more for young and old alike!!!
